Recently Finished . . .

Embroidery and embellishment are among the things keeping me busy these days. It’s fun, relaxing, and rewarding. It started with Posy’s pincushion which I enjoyed making so much that I decided to create a few more. I can sit on our porch in the glider while working on them and enjoy the weather (as long as it doesn’t get so hot that things start sticking together)!

Seeing what I was up to, my daughter asked if I would make her one. Of course, I said “Sure!” and she chose the colors – a sage green, a dusty lavender, and cream. It’s been finished now for a few days but it’s stayed on my desk because I wanted to take a few photos of it. I’m sure she’d love for me to hand it over so I’ve just now taken the pictures I wanted. You can see them below. I’m considering putting the other pincushions I’ve finished in my Etsy shop. After all, I certainly don’t need more than one or two myself - one for the sewing machine and one for the studio table. They won’t have faeries with them, but who knows; maybe one day.

  2. I have a question. The green vine on the side - how is it stuck on. I don't see any stitches.

  3. Hi Princess of Pink! Thank you - my daughter has an eye for colors that I might not think of until I've exhausted my favorites.

  4. Hi Dolores, I use fusible web which stays soft and supple, and is washable. Sometimes I add stitches for decoration even though the design is already in place - sometimes I prefer to let the design be prominent. Thanks for asking!

  6. Hi Sharon, Last I heard she was being treated very well and happily ensconced in her new home in Oregon, with a place to call her very own - living the life, I'm sure.
