Glimpses from Friday at TBAI

Just a few photos from Friday at TBAI. It was a busy day.

It began with a tour of this historic Victorian style home in Binghamton, NY.  Built in 1893, it is now the home of The Bundy Museum of History and Art.

I was most impressed by all of the oak woodwork inside.

Fretwork, carvings and stained glass decorated nearly every room in the home.

I think it would be interesting to be able to go back in time and see how the family who lived here actually lived here.

Afterwards, we had lunch and some time to set up for the show – I have no photos of the set up. Instead I will share this photo of Sebastian with delightful Jane Bitner, a collector and her charming daughter Nikki. We were fortunate to enjoy their company at dinner. Amazingly enough, Sebastian was on his best behavior. Maybe that was because he knew dessert would soon be delivered.

Dessert is usually the highlight of the fabulous feast at TBAI on Friday night. It’s always a surprise. This time it was Tiramisu accompanied by a chocolate shell filled with berries. I could not eat all of mine! Sebastian thought I could have done better if I had only tried.

Saturday was the day of the show and I’ve got a few photos of bears to share here in my next post. In the meantime, I will sign off with this photo of Sebastian with two of the sweetest young ladies – Claire and Corrine. They helped their mom Cheryl, mentioned in my last post, with her table which was right beside mine. Sebastian was quite taken with them and suggested I send him on an extended visit to their home where he was certain they would spoil him much more than I do. I told him I’d give it some thought but truthfully, between you and me, I might miss him too much!

  1. It looks like you and Sebastian are having a great time and he seems to be making lots of new friends. I wouldn't have been able to finish that dessert either. Can't wait for the next post to see more photos.

  2. What is it about these little bears? They always think the grass will be greener (and they will be more spoiled) elsewhere! Who else would schlep them around all over the place and indulge them in all their favourite treats but us? Such ingratitude...

  3. Ginger, thank you so much for posting your photos and comments. I couldn't make it to this TBAI, but I faithfully followed the schedule of events, thinking about all the fun ya'll were having. I've been watching for your post all day and was so delighted to see it. Can't wait to see more photos and hear more about what happened. This living vicariously isn't easy! Especially when it comes to bears! Bear hugs, Karen

  4. Sebastian, you get smitten with girls very easily. I think you should remember your mum gives you plenty of peanut butter and honey. You may not get if from the girls.

  5. Ah, Sebastian is quite right! The girls would certainly spoil him from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. Remember, Claire is our cookie-baker elf and hardly a day goes by when there is not some delectable treat to feast on--Sebastian would be in seventh heaven. But since you would miss him too much if he came for a visit here, I promise not to tell the girls about Sebastian's wish because, if I did, we probably would be overcome with quite the campaign from all three of them! LOL!

    Warmly,
    Cheryl
