A Visit to The Making of Harry Potter

Just about an hour outside of London is the Warner Brothers Studios where much of Harry Potter was filmed. I had heard over the last few years the Harry Potter tour was a worthwhile trip. Lucky for us our friends Lex and Elanor live nearby and offered to take us there. It more than lived up to its reputation! I could have stayed there twice as long. They change some of the items on exhibit from time to time so there is something new if you have been before. This time it was Hogwarts in the Snow and there was snow on the grounds and Christmas trees at Hogwarts. The tour makes you appreciate all the effort that it took to make the 8 films. If that sort of thing interests you, you should definitely put this on your not-to-be-missed list. I’ll share a few photos now and perhaps a few photos later.

The Cupboard Under the Stairs.  Where it all began.

Outside the Great Hall.  Anticipation

The Great Hall decorated with Christmas trees

Snape’s Robes

From the Christmas Party scene

The boys’ dormitory.  Look familiar?

Portraits hanging on the wall.  Remember them?

The Potions Classroom where pots stir themselves!

Dumbledore’s office.

In front of the most impressive scene in the place, the model of Hogwarts.

Photos can’t really capture what it’s like to be there and I have so many more.  Perhaps, if I get a chance, I will share some of the other images I have.

  3. Oh we want to visit some time, we need herself to stir herself and take us! In the meantime, we might just have a DVD marathon of the series...
